The History
Villa La Moresca is a prestigious house overlooking one of the most
beautiful panoramas in Tuscany and can host from 14 to 16 people. It was built at the end of XIX Century
in Montecatini Alto, a fortified historical village, with a romantic 'piazzetta',
typical monuments and romantic comers.
This villa is dipped in a luxuryant
garden, between the calm and the coolness of secular plants.
From the
villa, our guests can enjoy one of the most spectacular view in all
Tuscany, that runs from the Leghornian hills until the Versilia beaches
and the lands of Leonardo Da Vinci.
The musician Giuseppe Verdi used to spend his holidays in this villa wich
was built and possessed by his friend Pietro Grocco (from here the name
of the house), who was an illustrious physician and brilliant inventor of
the thermal cures in Montecatini.
Giuseppe Verdi was fashinated by the
splendid view, the light and the colors of this part of Tuscany and he said
the phrase: "This is the best view that I have never seen"..
Villa la Moresca is situated in a panoramic area, in Montecatini Alto; this little town is a medieval burgh, with typical rocky houses surrounding Piazzetta Giusti,
the main square, with its typical shops, wine-bars, and little restaurants.
